I will just speak and speak and speak and you may hear me and talk back to me. So long...
Where to draw the line

The Americans are again getting bogged down in Najaf where Moqtada Sadr's men seem to be putting up a stiff fight. We are seeing the repeat of the same story that unfolded in April/May when the Mehdi Army went on a rampage against them.

Sadr and his men play it safe by hiding around the safety of Imam Ali's shrine knowing fully well that the Americans will not storm the shrine fearful of world opinion. This is where the US loses out. America must realsi that these fighters whom they fight are the vanguard of another "khoemeini' style revolution and should be nipped in the bud sooner than later.

The muslims had no similar sensitivities to the feelings of Christians when they sacked the Hagia Sophia after taking Constantinople in 1453. Ok, leave mediaeval times out this even the 'wahabi' Saudis had no problems taking the help of French (Frankish) 'Infidels' in putting down an armed demonstration in the Islamic holiest of holies the Kaaba some years back.

What the world must realise is that when a place of worship be it a mosque or a church or a synagogue is no longer the abode of God but rather of scheming murderers, it would be fully justifiable to remove the veil of sacredness from that place and do whatever needs to be done.

But will the Americans do the unexpected...I think not!
